About Genet Press

Genet Press is an award-nominated content creator and publisher that delivers high-quality entertainment products competitive with top world publishers with an optimal appeal to a broad range audience. Genet was founded by the husband and wife team, Mayi Ngwala and Nakia Ngwala.

 

Nakia Ngwala holds an MBA from the Forbes School of Business and Technology at Ashford University. She is also a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian Language and Literature and a minor in business administration. Nakia possesses several years of experience in project management and is developing Genet's intellectual properties into fully fledged commercial properties and franchises. Aside from managing Genet with her husband, Nakia is involved in her community where she has served in various capacities to include serving as a Maryland State Governor appointed Review Board Member with the Maryland Department of Human Resources, Citizens Review Board for Children.

 

Mayi Ngwala possesses over two decades of financial and accounting experience from serving in senior positions throughout his professional accounting career. He has a thorough grasp of the demands of the entertainment industry, which he has demonstrated with the 44th NAACP Image Awards Nominated novel Congo: Spirit of Darkness. He was a mentee of noted writer and Iowa Walk of Fame inductee Earl D. Blakesley, Jr., whose screen credits include acclaimed television shows Tour of Duty and China Beach. As founder and partner at Genet Press, Mayi oversees the selection, development, and release of high-quality in-house projects to Genet Press’s audience. Mayi is an alumnus of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park where he majored in accounting.
